Its a new wintery Monday. Anyhow, happy Monday and I hope this week brings everyone good fortune.
The topic this week is about an App that I’ve been using and I’m absolutely in love with as it allows me to SAVE! SAVE!! SAVE!!! Some of you might already know about and use this app and for some of you that don’t know, I hope after reading this blog, you will download the app and make good use of it.
YES, I’m “that girl” with the Gucci bag, Louboutin shoes etc, and the brand name who*e that clips coupons and price match at any chance I get. I visited Walmart a couple of weeks ago and using this app, I saved a few dollars. I bought two Colgate toothbrushes, selling at $3.97 per brush at the store, another store had them on sale for $1.00 and I also had a $1.00 coupon that I cut out of a local newspaper. I was able to price match both toothbrushes for $1.00 each and used my coupon, meaning I got one toothbrush for FREE!!! Do the math, that is a savings of $6.94. On my Walmart trip that day, between price matching and using coupons, I saved around $15.00 on all my purchases.
Let’s begin. What is FLIPP? FLIPP is an app you can download through any device such as a cellphone, tablet, or even laptop with internet access. The app contains store flyers around your area as well as coupons that can easily be emailed and printed for use at the store.
Once the app is installed and setup, you have the option of viewing all flyers or a chosen category of choice.
You can search for specific item in the search bar as shown in the picture. My search is for chicken; Metro happens to have chicken breast of sale this week for $3.49 /lb.
I also happen to be looking for the store that has toothbrushes on sale. I prefer Colgate, hence I look for Colgate brand in the result. Bingo, Rexall have it on sale for $0.99 cents.
To clip (save) your item, you will click on the specific item you are interested in, the app will redirect you to the store’s flyer, from there, you click on the item again, and the yellow circle appears to let you know that item has been added to your list.
To find your clippings, locate your shopping list in your FLIPP app menu (1). Keep in mind, the location of your menu might defer from one device to another. Since I used my IPAD for the pictures and the editing, my menu is locate at the bottom of the screen. On my phone, the menu is located in a drop-down menu on the left in the app.
Once you are in your shopping list, you should find your clippings under “My clippings” option (2). As for the toothbrush I clipped, you can see it under my clippings.
You can also print coupons to use in store. The amazing thing about this app is that it looks for all the coupons available in your area and organize them all on one screen. In my case, it saves me from having to go on P&G Canada’s Website, sign in, look for coupons, then print.
To find your coupons, click on the coupon tab on your menu and v.o.i.l.a, your coupons are right there. Clip as many coupons as you need, the coupons will also appear in your shopping list. You can either print directly on that screen or in the case of using a smart phone and or tablet, you can email the coupons to yourself and then print them from your desktop/laptop (#3 in the picture above).
And lastly, you have the option to sync your store cards to the app. I personally don’t use this option, but its nice to know that it’s available. Again, under your menu option, locate the card option and follow the instructions.
In my area, Walmart and Canadian Tire allow shoppers to use coupons. I mostly go to Walmart because its close to me, in addition, I can price match and use the printed coupons at the same time.
I hope you all find this post useful. Happy CLIPPING; happy SAVING!
